The prodigal Golla may return? Great green beans Batman! Could it really be true?

Yup! It’s true. No date set, but Ed and I will be moving back to Houston this January.

UPDATE:

The move is tentatively set for January 2nd. Ed will be visiting Houston the weekend of the 12th and will hopefully find us an apartment at that time. I’m still planning on being in Houston with the Olives from the 20-27th.

Now, if I can just figure out a way to get my house to miraculously sort & pack itself…..

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 60-70 minutes

1 green bell pepper (diced)
1/2 onion (diced)
3-4 pork chops (meat cut away from bone and chopped)
2 cans of black beans

For the seasoning you’ll need to go into the Mexican Isle and look for the Goya products. You’ll need Goya Adobo All Purpose Seasoning and Sazon Goya Con Culantro y Achiote (it’s in a little orange’ish box)

Throw all the ingrediants into a saucepan together. Put ONE little pouch of the Sazon seasoning in with the ingredients. The Adobo seasoning (I just eyeball it) and maybe a little crushed red pepper to give it some zing. Let it simmer for about an hour and serve in tortilla’s w/ cheese.

While it’s simmering make sure that you keep the liquid at a comfortable level.. if that means you have to add some water that’s fine

2lbs frozen hash browns (let thaw)
1/2 tsp pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups grated cheddar cheese (you can use a bit more if you love cheese like we do!)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp salt
1 pint sour cream

topping:
1/4 cup melted butter
2 cups crushed plain potato chips

Mix ingredients and put in 9×13 casserole dish (buttered) put crushed potato chips on top and drizzle butter over top.

Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour uncovered

The awesome thing about this is you can make it the night before put it in the fridge then add the topping right before you put it in the oven.

1 gallon pure apple cider
1 apple (cut into quarters)
2 orange (cut into quarters w/ peel)
3 cinamon sticks
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup brown sugar

You can simmer it on the stovetop or crockpot. I mix it all together in my slow cooker and let it just simmer for about 4-5 hours. The upside with the slow cooker is it STAYS warm without the hassle of microwaving it later if you go the stovetop method. (think how cold you are after you finish trick or treating!)
